Migrating from one database platform to another can be problematic because each database engine has its own particular idiosynchracies. We offer a tried and tested methodology for migrating to Microsoft SQL Server, having migrated data from a variety of database vendors on to this platform.

Our database migration methodology involves analyzing the database structures, defining the data to be migrated, then developing th necessary migration scripts to carry out the migration. We often make use of DTS and SSIS tools to define ETL packages to conduct the migration. Finally, we will verify that the migration has completed sucessfully by defining scripts that wo a like for like comparism of the before and after.

We work closely with your own project teams to define and create an effective database migration plan that minimizes the costs and provides for a rapid migration of the data.
